Wallflower

I was wandering around the D'port attic when I found this dead lacewing attached to to the wall by its abdomen. Anyone have any idea what's going on? My google search was fruitless.

Look at me using Skitch like a pro.

  1. Hola Kathryn: Several lacewing species overwinter in attics. It is not time to overwinter yet, but I imagine this one came in and could not fly away again... The posture is in, is common when females are trying to lay eggs or clean the tip of their abdomens. I don't know what the dark redish color is... haemolymph is not red.
